Waen Project
OUR PLANS TO DEVELOP AN ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLAN AT WAEN
In August 2011 organic waste technology company TEG Environmental and energy company Alkane Energy were named preferred bidder for a project to develop an anaerobic digestion plant on the former abattoir site at Waen, St Asaph, Denbighshire.
We intend to keep local residents fully informed about our plans. A presentation was made to Tremeirchion Cwm Waen Community Council on Wednesday 28th September 2011. On Friday 14th October and Saturday 15th October 2011 we organised a 'Drop In' at Waen Parish Hall, to enable local residents to meet representatives from TEG and to see the early stage plans for the plant.
We were pleased to meet those who took up our invitation and we have noted the comments raised.
We are now finalising our planning submission and will update this section of the website as soon as there is any further news.
Current timelines for the project are as follows:
Planning and Permit applications submitted by December 2011
Plans/permits achieved by April 2012
Construction starts in May 2012
Construction completed by March 2013
