TEG to supply composting plant

10th July 2006

Green technology company TEG Environmental Plc is to supply a composting plant to Banham Poultry Ltd subsidiary, Banham Compost Ltd, in a deal worth £1.7 million.

The facility will be sited at Banham's Carleton Rode site in Norfolk and will comprise two banks of 24 TEG Silo Cages with a nominal capacity of 28,000 tonnes.  The site, which has already achieved planning permission, is expected to be operational by the end of the year, predominantly processing chicken feathers and other food industry waste streams.

TEG will be manufacturing and installing plant, with Banham managing the civil engineering separately.

TEG Chief Executive Mick Fishwick said: "This latest contract is a further terrific endorsement of TEG's technology and we look forward to opening the plant later this year.  TEG now has four plants under development in the UK, in addition to two already operational in Lancashire and Scotland, and its facility in Ireland.  We are building a truly national business and with the market continuing its rapid growth, we look forward to developing more facilities and further rapid expansion"
